About Our Company
Harmon is a mid-sized construction management, design-build, and general contracting firm. We specialize in commercial, industrial, health care, senior living and faith based construction. Our qualified personnel, professionalism and experience have enable us to become one of the most respected builders in the region.
Tim Harmon founded Harmon Construction in 1987. He and his wife, Janet, moved to Kansas City from Seattle, WA in 1986 to build the General Motors Fairfax Assembly Plant. After settling here, he saw the opportunity to start a company where integrity, respect, and professionalism would set it apart in the construction arena. Under Tim’s leadership, Harmon has achieved that goal while setting a steady pace for controlled growth.
RELATIONSHIPS BEFORE BUILDINGS
It’s a time-tested traditional approach to business that has served our clients, associates and shareholders well. Over 90% of the Harmon clients are either repeat business or referral. Our culture is to resolve conflicts early and expediently with all potential responsible parties. Furthermore, our mechanic lien processes offer protection to the owner, architect and other team members.
In May 2015, Harmon was selected as a Best Company to Work For by Ingrams Magazine. In 2014, Harmon was chosen as one of the Top 10 Small Businesses in the Greater Kansas City area by the Kansas City Chamber. Harmon is also a “Top 25 Commercial Contractor” in the Kansas City area per The Kansas City Star and KC Business Journal. We are one of the “50 Fastest Growing Companies in KC” per KC Business Journal and one of the “Top 150 Privately Owned Companies” in Kansas City.
Community is an integral part of our culture. We believe in giving back and supporting the areas around us.
